On the Uniqueness of the Equilibrium State for Ising Spin Systems

چکیده
We show that for an Ising spin system of arbitrary spin with a ferromagnetic pair interaction and a "periodic" external magnetic field there is a unique equilibrium state if and only if the magnetization is continuous with respect to a uniform change in the external field. Hence, if the critical temperature Tc is defined as the temperature where the spontaneous magnetization (which is a non-increasing function of the temperature) becomes positive, then the equilibrium state is unique for T> Tc and is non-unique for TTC. We also show that for an anti-ferromagnet consisting of two sublattices there is a unique equilibrium state if and only if the staggered magnetization is continuous with respect to a change in the staggered field.

Magnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice
Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization, internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4), ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...
متن کاملExistence and Uniqueness of Equilibrium States for Some Spin and Continuum Systems
The one to one correspondence between the existence of a unique equilibrium state and the differentiability of the free energy density with respect to the external field previously shown for Ising ferromagnets is extendend to higher valued spin systems as well as to continuum systems satisfying the Fortuin, Kasteleyn and Ginibre inequalities. In particular this is shown to hold for a mixture of...
متن کاملEquilibrium Measures for Coupled Map Lattices: Existence, Uniqueness and Finite-Dimensional Approximations
We consider coupled map lattices of hyperbolic type, i.e., chains of weakly interacting hyperbolic sets (attractors) over multi-dimensional lattices. We describe thermodynamic formalism of the underlying spin lattice system and then prove existence, uniqueness, mixing properties, and exponential decay of correlations of equilibrium measures for a class of Holder continuous potential functions ...
متن کاملDisordered Ising Systems and Random Cluster Representations
We discuss the Fortuin–Kasteleyn (FK) random cluster representation for Ising models with no external field and with pair interactions which need not be ferromagnetic. In the ferromagnetic case, the close connections between FK percolation and Ising spontaneous magnetization and the availability of comparison inequalities to independent percolation have been applied to certain disordered system...
